Regulatory requirements may be quite different depending on the regulatory or controlling organization. The regulatory agencies involved for radioactive materials may range from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission or NRC Agreement States for radioactive materials licensees to the Department of Energy for certain federal sites. Other organizations such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Transportation and State Environmental Agencies may also be involved. Our personnel can assist with the interface with the numerous organizations that may be involved including Federal, State and Local organizations, as well as stakeholder groups. ENERCON can evaluate changes in safety requirements that will be implemented during decommissioning and prepare analyses and amendment requests to all of these agencies and prepare presentations to support negotiation activities. We sit with our clients during regulatory meetings and provide seamless support regarding safety, technical, environmental, and decommissioning issues.
