Once a decision is made to close and remove a facility from service, a number of documents will be required as part of decommissioning. The owner of the facility must comply with the appropriate regulatory authority requirements until decommissioning is completed and the license or authorization terminated. The license or operating authority will be amended as appropriate for its change in status. Decommissioning document preparation will begin in the Transition Planning stage and will continue throughout the entire decommissioning process. ENERCON has supported the preparation of documents required for submittal to the appropriate regulatory agencies. We have extensive experience in the development of underlying bases analysis and document revision required for decommissioning. IAEA Safety Report 45 provides a recommended standard format and content for most of the required documents, with supplementary material provided by other IAEA and OECD/NEA documents, as well as local regulatory authority requirements. Document preparation may include, but is not limited to:

  •  Irradiated Fuel Management Plan
  • Site Specific Decommissioning Cost Estimate
  • Amended Technical or Operating Specifications
  • Engineering Studies and Reports
  • Updated Safety Analysis Report
  • Decommissioning Plans
  • Safety Assessments
  • Characterization Plans
  • Environmental Reports and Assessments
  • Surveillance & Maintenance Plans
  • Health & Safety Documents
  • Waste Management Plans
  • Project Work Plans
  • Amended Security & Emergency Plans
