Large Mammalian Fauna Survey

ENERCON was contracted by the Oklahoma Military Department to determine density, sex ratios, and young female ratios of large mammalian fauna on Camp Gruber located in Braggs, Oklahoma. ENERCON used aerial thermal infrared imaging flights and ground-based thermal infrared imaging classification speciation through post processing.

Documentation of ecological characteristics including species present and densities of species is vital for mission planning, natural resource management, endangered species management, and to ensure accomplishment of objectives established in the Camp Gruber Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan. Additionally, data collected from planning level surveys are necessary components of analyses conducted under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
