Progress Energy Site Selection

ENERCON completed comprehensive studies to select preferred sites for new nuclear power plants in North and South Carolina and in Northern Florida for Progress Energy. The studies considered existing nuclear power plant sites, brownfield sites, and greenfield sites. The studies evaluated key factors affecting the suitability of the proposed sites including population, availability of cooling water, land use, and access to transmission and transportation. For the site selection study in Northern Florida, ENERCON helped Progress Energy select a greenfield site for their proposed new nuclear power plant location.
