Environmental Reporting Deadlines are Approaching

Deadlines are quickly approaching for annual environmental compliance report submittals. Avoid fines and ensure your air, water, and waste programs are compliant with the quick guide below.

 

AIR

EPA’s Air Emissions Reporting Requirements (AERR) requires state and local agencies to collect and submit emissions data for the Reporting Year (RY) 2019.

 

  • Semi-Annual and Annual Certification for FMACT/NESHAP were due January 31, 2020. If you missed this deadline or have received requests for information, contact us for help navigating the next steps.
  • Air Emissions Inventories were due to State agencies by March 1, 2020. Most state agencies require electronic submittal using SLEIS or some form of online reporting. If you missed this deadline or have received requests for information, contact us for guidance.
  • EPA’s Green House Gas Reporting Program (EGRP) requires reporting of GHG emissions by March 31, 2020. Reports are submitted using the online reporting tool e-GGRT.

 

WASTE/CHEMICAL

  • Biennial Hazardous Waste Report was due March 1, 2020. Some states require annual reporting, including Texas and Oklahoma.  If you missed this deadline or have received requests for information, contact us for guidance.
  • Annual Waste Summary (AWS) reports are required for any Texas facility with a NOR (industrial and hazardous waste) and were due March 1. If you missed this deadline or have received requests for information, contact us for guidance.
  • Chemical Inventory Reporting (Tier II): EPA’s EPCRA requires facilities to report chemical inventories by March 1, 2020. These reports are also submitted to local emergency response committees and fire departments. If you missed this deadline or have received requests for information, contact us for guidance.
  • Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) Reporting is required for manufacturers and importers to provide information on chemicals they produce or import into the US.  Reporting is due June 1 for reporting years 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019
  • Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) Reporting, also known as Form R reporting, is required for certain industrial sectors which exceed the TRI-listed chemical threshold.  Reporting is due July 1 for the previous reporting year

 

 

WATER

 

  • Water pollution control permits were due January 31, 2020. If you missed this deadline or have received requests for information, contact us for guidance.

 

  • NPDES permits include the following annual reports, as applicable:  Sewage Sludge/Biosolids Annual Program Reports, Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) Annual Program Reports, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program Reports, Pretreatment Program Reports, Significant Industrial User Compliance Reports (in municipalities without approved pretreatment programs), Sewer Overflow/Bypass Event Reports, and CWA Section 316(b) Annual Reports.  Due dates vary for these and range from January 30th to March 31st
  • Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) are due March 31, 2020.
