When the snow shows up to the License Renewal Task Force (LRTF) meeting before we do, you adapt — and that’s exactly what this group did. Despite the winter weather in Charlotte, ENERCON’s License Renewal team didn’t miss a beat.
The meeting was filled with strong industry participation and collaboration throughout. Discussions included extensive information sharing lessons learned and best practices for preparing nuclear plant license renewal applications and implementing associated commitments. Attendees also received updates on recent and upcoming regulatory changes expected to impact the license renewal process, reinforcing the importance of staying current as guidance continues to evolve. In addition, the agenda featured presentations on ongoing research into advanced inspection techniques and innovative approaches to implementing license renewal commitments.
“My biggest takeaway was that the industry is moving fast, and with regulatory guidance continuing to shift, staying adaptable is more important than ever,” said Michael Henderson, ENERCON’s Director, Engineering. “It’s also inspiring to be surrounded by people who care this much about extending the life of nuclear plants and what that means for our industry.”

As the leading engineering firm in nuclear license renewal and subsequent license renewal, we’re proud of the expertise and collaboration our team brings to shaping the future of long‑term plant operation. With evolving regulatory guidance across the industry, utilities need partners they can trust. ENERCON’s depth of experience and strong License Renewal/Subsequent License Renewal (LR/SLR) portfolio make us well‑positioned to help navigate these changes, and we’re excited to meet the challenge.
A big thank‑you to Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), and all LRTF participants for the flexibility and dedication that kept the meeting productive despite the snowy surprise.
ENERCON’s license renewal portfolio is one of the strongest in the industry, built on decades of experience and results. And even with everything we’ve accomplished, we know there is so much more ahead. We are continuing to grow — and the best part is, we’re just getting started.
